Show Notes

Vancouver Island-based director Susan Ko brings together a powerful short film, In The End, featured in CineVic's 2021 Short Circuit Pacific Rim Film Festival. Drawing from key moments of her own life, Susan shares with host Joyce Kline the impact dementia has on a relationship between mother and daughter.

Tying this story together with the vital importance of a reveal, discover what it takes to dig deep into your own past to find what you needed all along.

Susan Ko has a degree from the University College Drama Program at U of T. After a career in social work, she resumed acting, and shortly after discovered that she enjoyed making short films. Her first, Dejalo Ser, premiered at the Five Minute Film Festival in 2018 in Victoria.

Since then she has done two other shorts which were submitted to local festivals. In The End is Susan’s first attempt at a dramatic short film. It is autobiographical in nature, and very close to her heart.
